KX School Musical

Tigz Productions returned this summer to follow up last year’s production of “High School Musical” with the highly anticipated sequel “High School Musical 2”. The production was held at the Bacon Theatre in Cheltenham, having outgrown the previous venue. The same creative team were behind the show, with producer Andy Webb requiring a sound system to provide “the dynamic impact and guts for the shows pop rock soundtrack”. A further requirement was that the system had to out-perform a young and vibrant 2,000 capacity audience as they sung along with their favourite songs.
Having recently purchased a large scale KX Audio system, the 14-date show was the perfect opportunity to put the system through its paces. The large rig consisted of four KX12 active loudspeakers and four KX1.5 active subwoofers per side. A further two KX12’s were used on each side of the balcony level.
“We were extremely impressed with the KX Audio system. It certainly had the punch needed to drive the show. The bottom end to the system is great and added to the depth required for the pop rock soundtrack. For the price I feel they represent great value for money and stand up against many products in higher price brackets.” Commented Andy Webb “For us as a production company, the fact that KX Audio systems allow you to take a single pair of tops and subs, then daisy chain them to additional units to create a larger system is a great benefit as it can adapt to our flexible requirements. This along with the fact that the units are well built and can fit into tight budgets makes KX Audio the perfect choice.”
